Many False Teachers Are Well Spoken Of

 ““Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.” (Luke 6:26, ESV)

If you come across a popular preacher or pastor, watch out!  It is likely they are false, because, at the very least, they will be well spoken of as Jesus proclaims.  Billy Graham is an obvious example.  Not sure of any other obvious examples like Billy Graham.  I came across someone named Josh Howerton of Lakepointe Church, he's got over a million subscribers on YouTube alone.  This alone makes him suspicious.

In addition, Jesus said to His disciples:

“and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 10:22, ESV)

If you are not hated because of the name of Christ, it is likely you are not saved, and are headed to Hell.  Why?  Because a mark of a true believer is hatred by the world of you because of Christ.

 “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” (Psalms 7:11, KJV)

World Cup Tourists Love America

 I was watching a "New Rules" segment of Bill Maher's show, and during this segment, he talked about the reaction Europeans have of American luxuries that Americans take for granted, such as:

Costco
Walmart
BBQ
Ranch Dressing

All this reminded me of how rich and prosperous America really is, when even the "poorest" among us usually have access to all this stuff.

This bothers me.  Jesus says:

““But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. “Woe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. “Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.” (Luke 6:24-25, ESV)

Now, this doesn't mean that those who merely live in America are going to Hell just because they're on this giant piece of land.  Still, compared to the rest of the world, we're actually quite rich, and that should be concerning.

Am I off on this?  (Proverbs 6:23)
