Luce Sheds Light On My Beam

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” (Matthew 7:1-5, KJV)

There is a new anime character, and it's coming from the Catholics.  Her name is Luce, which is Italian for "light".  Immediately I thought, "idol" (Exodus 20:4, Leviticus 26:1, Deuteronomy 4:16, 23, 25, etc.).

Then I realized my own struggles with other worldly characters, especially during Planet Comicon:

"Yet, my fervor at beholding the Winged Knight [Batman] stirred within me a disquiet:  Had I begun to elevate my soul unto these follies?" --The Ninth Cloud, Chapter 2, Verse 46

After any of my own hypocrisies are dealt with, then I can keep a 10 foot pole distance (see I Corinthians 10:14) from Luce.
